Updated Industry Placements delivery guidance – supportive resources now available

The department recently announced an updated set of industry placement delivery approaches. The updated guidance is now live and we have released a set of resources including an executive summary, an animated video, an examples document, a webinar for employers and providers. Take a look at these helpful resources to develop your understanding of the new approaches.

Final opportunity to register to deliver T Levels and the T Level Foundation Year from 2026

This is the final opportunity for providers not currently delivering T Levels to register their T Level and T Level Foundation Year delivery intentions for the 2026 to 2027 academic year and be eligible to receive implementation planning support, along with an upfront 16-19 participation funding allocation for T Levels. The registration portal will close at midnight on 21 March 2025 and will not be able to accept applications after this date.

Providers will require a DfE sign-in account to register and only providers not signed-up to deliver T Levels already should apply. Please find the registration portal here

If you have an enquiry regarding the registration process, or if you want to confirm you are registered, you can check the GOV.UK T Level provider list, or contact the TLevel.Registration@education.gov.uk mailbox quoting your organisation’s name and UKPRN in the subject header.

Understanding T Level destinations

The Gatsby Charitable Foundation, working in partnership with RCU and T Level providers, has recently published a report on destinations of the second cohort of T Level students. The report, which draws on providers’ own destinations insight, provides an early picture of the range of progression routes taken by these students and highlights the many and varied pathways open to T Level students upon completion of their qualification. Data collection for the 2023/24 cohort is currently underway – Wave One, Two and Three providers have been contacted directly and your ongoing support for this project would be very much appreciated.

These insights sit alongside a developing suite of case studies celebrating the success of T Level students, which can be viewed on the Technical Education Networks website. If you would like to discuss this research, or recommend one of your T Level graduates for inclusion in a future case study, please email sarah.herdan@gatsby.org.uk.

New learner journey videos - From T Level Foundation Year to a T Level

We’re continuing to follow our TLFY students now they’ve progressed and are enjoying the first year of their chosen T Level.

These videos show the benefits of a T Level Foundation Year programme and include interviews with the students, their teachers and family members who talk about their experiences of the programme.

You can watch the students develop and grow in confidence and achieve their T Level ambitions – a great marketing tool for your T Level Foundation Year programme to illustrate the value and possible positive outcomes of the programme, to potential students and their parents/guardians!
