Progression Maps

To support the introduction of the reformed qualifications from 2027, example progression pathway maps have been developed for the first subjects to illustrate suggested learner destinations and progression opportunities.

These progression pathways are designed to provide a clear and accessible overview of the opportunities available to learners after completing the first V Levels, Occupational Certificates, or Foundation Certificates. These include routes into further study, higher education, apprenticeships and longer-term careers.

The progression maps aim to give learners greater confidence in planning their next steps and understanding a range of opportunities that these new qualifications can unlock.

Editable progression maps are also available for providers to adapt for their own settings.
