Template for final review of industry placement student
Use this template to help structure the end-of-placement process and capture feedback from both the employer and the student.
Employers are expected to complete an appraisal of the student’s performance and progress before the final review meeting. If the placement was split across more than one employer, each must complete their own appraisal for the time the student spent with them.
The final review meeting is a three-way discussion between the school or college, the employer and the student. It provides an opportunity to reflect on what the student has achieved, review progress towards their learning goals, and identify any further development needs. The school or college leads and records this meeting, using the employer’s appraisal(s) and the student’s reflections as evidence.
The template includes:
- a model employer appraisal form, and
- an example final review form to show the type of questions likely to be discussed.
You can send these templates to employers as required or adapt or integrate these into your own systems as needed.
Employers can find this, and more information and support for industry placements, on the industry placement employer support service.
