T Level Thursday!

We are excited to let you know that T Level Thursday will take place on 8th February as part of National Apprenticeship Week.

Here’s a toolkit to help you promote and support T Level Thursday.

Further information on getting involved and promoting the day will be circulated early in the new year. 

Success Stories from the Chartered Institute of Building for Construction T Levels! 

Chartered Institute of Building have published an article exploring how Bowmer + Kirkland have benefitted from hosting T Level students for industry placements. You can read the article here. 

Check your T Level information in the Course Directory is up to date

Make sure that your organisations T Level information is up to date in the National Careers Service Course Directory so that learners and employers can find you. Find out more here

Ofqual Student Guide 2024

The Ofqual Student Guide 2024 has now been published. As with the last few years, it recognises that T Levels are new qualifications and provides a reminder that Awarding Organisations to take this into account when setting grade boundaries.

IfATE Consultation on a new Health T Level 

IfATE currently have a consultation open for views on a potential new Health T Level Occupational Specialism in Diagnostic Imaging. You can contribute your views here before Friday 8th December. 

Survey on Draft Non-Statutory Guidance on Assigning Sector Subject Areas (SSAs)

Ofqual has considered how the SSA classification system might be improved and ensure that the SSA classification system remains fit for purpose. They are looking for contributions via their online survey to help finalise their non-statutory guidance for awarding organisations.  

Open Consultation on the draft sector Subject Area 6 title change​

Based on the responses to the call for evidence and survey, Ofqual is now consulting on amending the title of SSA 6 – Information and Communication Technology and seeking views on the draft non-statutory guidance.

T Level Top Tips and Sharing Good Practice

Date: Wednesday 13th December

Time: 15:30-16:30

Description: The Association of Colleges’ final event of the year will feature a panel of seasoned T Level providers sharing insights and best practices across various T Level subjects. The session will primarily focus on an interactive Q&A, providing you with the chance to ask any T Level or T Level Foundation Year-related queries to experienced providers.

City & Guilds:

In-person Introduction to T Level events for pre-delivery centres

Between January and April, City & Guilds team of experienced Technical Advisors will be hosting in-person events across the country for providers not yet delivering T Levels. There will be specific events for:

  • Onsite Construction and Building Services Engineering
  • Management and Administration 
  • Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Agriculture, Environmental and Animal Care

These events will be an opportunity to ask questions and network with other colleges in your region and will be particularly relevant to anyone who would be involved in the implementation or delivery of T Levels, including heads of centre, curriculum leads and tutors.

Guide Standard Exemplification Materials (GSEM) for Agriculture, Land Management and Production

Guide Standard Exemplification Materials (GSEM) for each Occupational Specialism within Agriculture, Land Management and Production are available online. Each Occupational Specialism will have GSEM samples reflecting a threshold competence grade and a distinction grade. The sample materials aim to provide centres with examples of the knowledge, skills and understanding that attest to the relevant grade standard.

GSEMs can be found on the documents tab of the Agriculture, Land Management and Production qualification page, under ‘Assessment materials’ and the relevant Occupational Specialism heading. Find them here.

To help you prepare for your students sitting the core exams in the autumn assessment series, NCFE is sharing some useful reminders to help ensure these assessments go smoothly, including how to disable AI tools during assessments.
