We welcome you to join Yvonne Bronsky, registered midwife and Chair of the Midwifery Forum Committee with the Royal College of Nursing, for a workshop on putting guidelines and standards within midwifery into practice and how to best approach the all-important conversation on perinatal mental health. 

Yvonne began her midwifery career in 1984 and has been passionate ever since around women’s choices being met and within a setting of their choice. Yvonne has a keen interest and involvement in ensuring and evidencing that midwives are supported and encouraged to be fit to practice and that maternity services are meeting the needs of the women and their families that they serve.

In this informative session, Yvonne will be discussing:
- Safeguarding and patient safety
- Quality of care in midwifery
- NICE guidelines on perinatal mental health
- Negative impacts of perinatal depression 
- Framing discussions in midwifery appointments in the right way and using appropriate language 
- Importance of women’s choice during perinatal care
- Industry updates and ongoing campaigns

This workshop will address the following parts of the Health T Level specification:
- Core Component – Safeguarding: A.11

 Supporting the Midwifery Team:
- Performance outcome 1: K1.1, K1.18
- Performance outcome 2: K2.2, K2.3
