Industry Workshop - Education & Early Years - Safeguarding, health and safety and emotional wellbeing
Gill Gittins has a 30-year primary education background including being a primary school Headteacher for 7 years. She has a wealth of experience working in a number of inner-city schools, carrying out roles ranging from Curriculum & Assessment, Senco and Safeguarding lead to Senior Leader and Headship. Gill has also led PSHE and RSE and has a focused interest in children’s emotional health and wellbeing.
Gill works as a Safeguarding Consultant for Brightcore Consultancy where they provide dynamic and forward-thinking training and consultancy services, leading transformative workshops and training for staff, students, and governors, working with and supporting over 900 schools, colleges, organisations, local authorities and businesses nationwide, to improve their provision.
In this workshop, Gill will be taking us through some aspects of safeguarding, health and safety and emotional wellbeing from Element 3 in the T Level specification covering:
- Legislation in relation to educational settings
- How statutory guidance inform policies and procedures in educational settings
- The importance of children’s and young people’s emotional health and its impact on their overall wellbeing
- Public Health England’s 8 principles to support emotional health and wellbeing.
There will also be plenty of opportunity to put your questions to Gill during the session.
