Employer Engagement CPD for University Technical Colleges 4-Part Programme
This CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programme has been designed to assist you to plan, implement and embed employer engagement activities from strategy to delivery. This CPD programme is a fully funded pilot by the Department for Education. It will test and evaluate the impact of offering provider support to assist with generating and securing industry placements.
The programme will be delivered in four parts through live online sessions, occurring on a fortnightly basis. The total programme time will be 10 hours made up of 7 hours live online and 3 hours of self-guided activities. Practical tools and resources will be provided throughout the session to support your success.

Part 1: Building a sustainable employer engagement strategy (2 hours)
- Developing or enhancing your employer engagement strategy

- Knowing your employer market and which channels you can use to reach them.
- Securing organisational commitment to the strategy
Part 2: Getting set up – planning the implementation of the strategy (1.5 hours)
- Understanding roles and responsibilities
- Establishing quality / customer service engagement standards
- Exploring and developing the employer journey
- Using digital tools to increase reach and engagement
- Helping you / your team to have confident conversations with employers
Part 3: Engagement with employers (1.5 hours)
- Building and managing sustainable employer relationships
- Equipping you with the tools and resources to successfully engage with employers.
- Tracking and monitoring stages of the employer journey
Part 4: Additional engagement activities and a focus on feedback and improvement (2 hours)
- Managing employer engagement success
