Higher Education sector engagement
A large support network for T Levels has been developed through HE intermediary bodies including UCAS, UUK, University Alliance, UVAC, MillionPlus, HELOA, IndependentHE, GuildHE, and the Russell Group.
These bodies have provided key support for T Levels including holding events, disseminating key information, providing feedback on policy proposals and gaining support from HE to validate the mapping work. The department meets with these groups monthly to set the strategy on HE engagement and agree how best to engage with their networks.
UCAS have published informative communications such as Where did the first ever cohort of T Level students progress to? | Undergraduate, Apprenticeships, 16-18 Choices | UCAS which provides an evidence base for HE admissions of the first T Level cohort.
The Gatsby Foundation have also been working with the HE sector to support them plan for T Levels from both an admissions perspective and for industry placements; their case study, Planning for T-levels at Keele University | Gatsby (improvingtechnicaleducation.org.uk), is an example of work a university has taken to support T Levels.
