DfE T Level and T Level Transition Programme Podcast series
We have launched a new five-part podcast series, ‘DfE T Level and T Level Transition Programme – how to plan for success and be ready to deliver’ in partnership with our Provider Delivery Support provider, the Association of Colleges. The podcasts are aimed at T Level and T Level Transition Programme Providers that are in the preparation stage of their T Level and T Level Transition Programme journey, and feature a range of current providers discussing their experience of how they managed to successfully plan brand-new T Level and T Level Transition Programme curriculum with personal advice and guidance to support your planning.

Episodes are being released weekly from 1st March 2023. Each episode will have a specific focus that will provide information, support and direction. The following themes are covered in the series:
- The importance of strategic intent
- What to consider when designing and delivering effective and successful T Level programmes
- What to consider when designing and delivering effective and successful T Level Transition Programmes
- Marketing strategies to support the communication and recruitment of T Level and T Level Transition Programme students
- Information and advice to support students to progress to positive destinations (including progression from T Level Transition Programmes onto T Levels).
The first episode 'The importance of strategic intent' explores the importance of having strategic intent behind successful T Level and T Level Transition Programme launch and development, and features Kirstie Kohling, Assistant Principal for Quality and Curriculum, Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College and Ashley Grute, Assistant Principal Vocational Curriculum, HSDC. They discuss how they decided which T Levels and occupational specialisms to deliver, as well as the rationale behind which T Level Transition programmes they offer.
The second episode 'What to consider when designing and delivering effective and successful T Level programmes' covers what to consider when designing and delivering effective and successful and T Level programmes. Andrew Bristow, Director of Built Environment at Thomas Telford UTC and Neil Johnson, Assistant Principal Young People at Barnsley College discuss the various roles that employers play in T Level design and delivery, as well as how they induct students and what they do to prepare them for industry placements.
The third episode 'What to consider when designing and delivering effective and successful T Level Transition Programmes' features Guy Marshall, Curriculum Lead at Ashton Sixth Form College and Robert Ind, Head of School at Cranford Community College discussing how to design and deliver effective and successful T Level Transition Programmes. They talk about how they ensure their students are T Level ready through assessment methods, contextualisation of English and maths and developing work skills.
